Ballivor 2-4 St Ultans 1-7
St Ultans bowed out of the Tailteann Cup undefeated but failed to qualify with hosts Ballivor going through to the semi final stage. Ultans faced a stiff breeze in the first half but opened brightly with a well struck free from Eoin Kavanagh and a point from play from wing back Martin Dolan. They key scores of the game came for Ballivor in the first ten minutes with two goals one from play and a penalty both were excellent finishes and left Keith Hennessy with no chance. Ultans rallied and two points from Gearoid Rennicks closed the gap to two. Ballivor won another penalty but a fantastic save from goalkeeper Hennessy kept Ultans in the game. Gearoid Rennicks scored from play but this was cancelled out by Ballivors first point in the 28th minute. Eoin Kavanagh scored from a free to leave the minimum between the sides at the break.
Ballivor looked to have secured victory with the first three scores of the 2nd half to lead by four with just five minutes remaining, Ultans got back into the game with a goal finished by substitute Tadhg Ratty after Adam Rogers saw his goal attempt come back off the post.Gearoid Rennicks pointed a free from distance to draw the sides level but resolute defending from both sides ensured neither side would get late winning score.
