FL4: Buchanan point seals win

St Ultans 2-11
Drumbaragh 2-10

Played Thursday May 2nd

A Tommy Buchanan point two minutes into injury time sealed victory in a Division 4FL contest the home side led for the majority of the night. An early goal from Martin Dolan and a penalty by Tommy Buchanan after 26 minutes after Adam Rogers was  fouled was the difference between sides at the break.

Drumbaragh had narrowed the gap to four and closed to within a point with a goal on the 19th minute. Ultans rallied and a free from Ruairi Buchanan extended the lead the two but Drumbaragh responded with a free. Both sides had chances and another Buchanan free and a point from substitute Jonny Foster looked to have sealed victory but there was more drama to follow as in the last minute, a cleverly taken short free from Drumbaragh found a man in space in the large square and he finished to the net.  The next possession was crucial and the men in green and black secured the ball and worked it up the pitch eventually creating a chance for Tommy Buchanan who split the posts for a hard earned victory with some impressive defending and nine Ultans players getting on the scoresheet.

Next up for St Ultans is a trip to Ballinacree to play St Brigids
